Submission guidelines
How to pitch an article to AERONAUTIR.
We accept a small number of outside contributions, published under Opinion with the contributor's own byline and credentials.
What we are looking for
- Analysis grounded in specific, checkable detail rather than general commentary.
- 1,200–2,500 words. Shorter is fine if the argument is complete.
- A clear argument, stated early. We are not looking for surveys of a topic.
- Original work, not published elsewhere.
What we will not run
- Pieces that promote a product or a company. That is advertising — use the contact form to ask about that instead.
- Claims sourced only to anonymous social media accounts.
- Anything that would compromise operational security.
How to submit
Approved contributors write directly on the site: the editorial team creates a writer account, and drafts go through the same review workflow as any in-house piece — save a draft, submit for review, and the editor either publishes it or sends it back with notes. Send a short pitch first — two or three sentences on the argument, plus a line on your background — through the contact form, subject "Article submission".
Payment
PLACEHOLDER. State plainly whether contributions are paid, and if so, how much and when. Ambiguity here costs you good contributors.
Editing
We edit for clarity, length and house style. Substantive changes go back to the author before publication.
