Submission guidelines

We accept a small number of outside contributions, published under Opinion with the contributor's own byline and credentials.

What we are looking for

• Analysis grounded in specific, checkable detail rather than general commentary.
• 1,200–2,500 words. Shorter is fine if the argument is complete.
• A clear argument, stated early. We are not looking for surveys of a topic.
• Original work, not published elsewhere.

What we will not run

• Pieces that promote a product or a company. That is advertising — use the contact form to ask about that instead.
• Claims sourced only to anonymous social media accounts.
• Anything that would compromise operational security.

How to submit

Approved contributors write directly on the site: the editorial team creates a writer account, and drafts go through the same review workflow as any in-house piece — save a draft, submit for review, and the editor either publishes it or sends it back with notes. Send a short pitch first — two or three sentences on the argument, plus a line on your background — through the contact form, subject "Article submission".

Editing

We edit for clarity, length and house style. Substantive changes go back to the author before publication.
